Ever since I was born I have been surrounded by Health and Fitness. Growing up my parents owned and operated two successful fitness clubs on the Sunshine Coast. My earliest memories were of being at the gym looking into the aerobics classes, the music blaring with 80’s hits and all these extremely fit people jumping and dancing around in hot pink and yellow leotards! I’d then wander over to the weights area and check out all the big guys pumping up their muscles! It was quite an environment to be brought up in, and meant that if I wasn’t spying on everyone training at the gym I was at home getting nutrition lectures from my Mum and Dad
Upon turning 18 I decided to get my feet wet and start helping people achieve THEIR goals. Being immersed in exercise, good eating and healthy living from such a young age gave me a great passion to continue learning and continue imparting all of the knowledge I was gaining onto willing subjects! This saw me graduate with a Bachelor degree in Sport and Exercise Science, a Diploma in Remedial Massage and an accreditation as a Strength and Conditioning Coach. This has been my life since I was only a baby, and I couldn’t think of anything else I would rather do for a living.
I want to help YOU. Whether I can guide you in fixing your back pain, help you get a better summer beach body, or give you some motivation to change some non-useful habits, your goals are my goals, and I will do everything in my professional capacity to help you achieve them.

Just a few: Ian King, Charles Poliquin, Dave Tate, Eric Cressey, Chad Waterbury, Mike Leahy, Thomas Meyers, Dr Stuart McGill, Pavel, Gray Cook, Kelly Starret and the phenomenon that is crossfit! I’m sure there will be many more to come over the years.

As a kid my life revolved around sport. If I wasn’t playing it, I was generally watching it or talking about it. I was involved in everything from soccer to basketball to athletics & horse riding, but my main passion into my teens was Rugby League, which I played seriously until I left high school. It was upon leaving high school in my first year of tertiary study that I was struck down with first severe glandular fever, which then progressed into Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. For the next 4 or so years, the boundless energy I had once taken for granted was suddenly gone and I literally remember crawling off the field 5 minutes into a social game of touch feeling like someone had taken my batteries out.
This event coupled with a full shoulder reconstruction in my mid twenties after a failed foray back onto the footy field left a lasting impression on me about the importance of health and fitness and how much potential we have as human beings to improve ourselves physically through exercise and correct nutrition. My energy has returned and I am now stronger and fitter than I have ever been after applying the principles I have learned while becoming a personal trainer. My career has taken me all over the world and led to the amazing experience of working for 1 year in the Italian fitness industry in Milan.
It’s my main passion in life to help others achieve their potential and achieve whatever goals they desire through the correct application of these same training principles. Whether it’s changing your body shape, achieving sporting success or simply improving your quality of life I can’t wait to help you be all that you can be.

My first memories of fitness involve my Dad, early mornings, long runs or swims, and a sore body afterwards. We would be on holidays and Dad would walk into the room, wake us up by throwing his socks at us, and say “C’mon boys, we are going for a 10km run”. Not really the thing that an 8yr old boy wants to do on his holiday. But, if it wasn’t for his perseverance I would never have swam at national level, placed 1st and 3rd in the City to Surf and competed Triathlons competitively.
After racing like this and training with no method or planning, I burnt out. All of the trophies, medals, and ribbons that were around the place became a burden. There is only so long a child/teenager can keep up high intensity training without some sort of method. I stopped training and let my fitness fall into the past, claiming “I have better things to do”. I carried on this way, unhappy in jobs that would make most people happy. I just could not figure out why I wasn’t happy, or… alive.
I made the move from Sydney to the Sunshine Coast in 2006, and I started personal training with Marty Skele and Body Overhaul. This instantly reminded me of what had made me happy in life and what I needed to do. I enrolled at the Sunshine Institute of TAFE to complete my Diploma of Fitness.
I can now share my knowledge of sport, fitness, and training to others and offer guidance that I never had as a young athlete. There are so many people I admire in this industry just for the great work that they do but it is the clients that put their trust in my hands that I admire most, I think it is amazing for a person to approach a trainer and simply ask for help!

Greatest Influences: The greatest influences in my life are Lance Armstrong and my Father (3 x Ironman Triathlon). Mike Phillips from the Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE has really made an impact on my life, as have a lot of the teachers there. Mostly my influences are from Triathlon, and its three disciplines.

I’ve had the privilege of growing up in beautiful environments that inspired a healthy and active lifestyle. Good nutrition, positive thinking and a balanced lifestyle are qualities that my parents developed in me through leading by example.
My primary school years gave me the wonderful experience of being educated under the Rudolf Steiner system. The philosophy of this education system is about the development of the whole person; body, mind and spirit. All elements must be working in unison to reach a person’s full potential. This is my approach to life and I use these principals when working to achieve my client’s goals.
I’ve always had an active interest in sports, in and out of school and needles to say PE was my favourite subject. Touch football and soccer were my main sports but I love any team sports and being brought up as 1 of 8 children in a large family, I guess you could say being a team player is innate through my hand me down ‘genes’. It was in high school that I started to develop my passion and interest in the fitness industry. As I furthered my study and started working as a Fitness Professional my enthusiasm for this industry has grown.
Witnessing the changes in my clients, seeing them take responsibility for their health and wellbeing inspires me. I have found great reward in working with people to live a healthy and active life by defying and challenging their neural and physical limitations.
No matter who you are, your state of health, your lifestyle or your goals –big or small, I will be able to help you. During our time together I will work with you to give you a greater understanding that a combined balance of fitness, nutrition, rest, knowledge, attitude and perseverance will better your performance and give you the tools you need to achieve your goals. I will create a positive change in your life by structuring a lifestyle program suited your individual needs.
